Leading ethical cleaning and laundry products company Bio-D is celebrating after winning a Green Apple award in a national campaign to find Britain’s greenest companies, councils and communities.
The Sutton Fields based business pitched its project outlining its ISO 14001 environmental management systems success in the Environmental Improvement category against over 500 other nominations and will be presented with a prestigious Green Apple award at a glittering presentation ceremony at the House of Commons on November 15.
In addition to the Green Apple award, Bio-D will be invited to have the winning paper published in the Green Book, the leading international work of reference on envinronmental best practice, so that others around the world can follow their example and learn from their experience.
Commenting on the win, Bio-D’s Sales and Marketing Director, Sara Holtby said; “We are delighted to have won this prestigious award and are proud to have put Hull and East Riding on the environmental map.”
Organised by The Green Organisation, an independent not for profit environment group, the Green Apple awards began in 1994 and reward environmental endeavour amongst companies, councils and communities. They are judged by representatives from the Environment Agency, the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management and other independent bodies.
