Here’s our latest press release:
Directors at Hull eco business, Bio-D are gearing up to face the gruelling ‘Big G’ Cyclosportive in aid of charity.
Despite training setbacks resulting from a dislocated shoulder, Lloyd Atkin and Sara Holtby are ready to face the 62k ‘Big G’ challenge around the Yorkshire Wolds on 20th July and hope to raise £500 for the Allergy UK Nurses Appeal.
Managing Director Lloyd Atkin said: “Allergy UK is our charity of the year and we wanted to undertake a significant challenge to raise vital funds. We didn’t quite appreciate quite how much of a challenge it would be, especially with Sara coming back to cycling following a knee injury and me being knocked off my bike at the start of my training, but we’ll rise to it!”
Allergy UK launched a nationwide fundraising appeal to raise £1million to provide specialist allergy nurses within communities across the UK last year. Allergy UK’s nurses will help to support GPs to meet the challenge the current allergy epidemic is placing on them within an already overloaded Primary Care health system.
